Our mission is to provide exceptional service to our clients, holistically approaching horse management in order to ensure the longevity of each horse whilst improving their performance in competition.
With a long list of contacts in the industry we can help set you up with a team of professionals that can truly support both you & your horse.
We understand how overwhelming it can be trying to find out what you need, so we are here to guide you.
Utilising long term planning for each client, we are determined to save you money and keep this sport accessible, for leisure riders we also set goals to ensure clients feel that are able to best enjoy their hobby by improving their ability to engage in their preferred activities safely.
Owner / Rider / Coach
Steph, has been riding since the age of 2, and been lucky enough to work for some of the industry leaders in Australia across all 3 Olympic disciplines (Showjumping, Dressage, Eventing). She brings together a passion for longterm horse welfare, rider biomechanics and sports psychology.
In past 2 years alone she has coached over 100 students, ranging from toddlers as young as 2yo to adults over the age of 75. She is constantly engaging in ongoing education from others and from her mentors. Chris Bartles is one of her idols, in both horse management and coaching and she attends whenever he comes to Australia, you will often hear her refer you to his fantastic manuals for further reading.
Steph is a showjumping and dressage rider, but at heart she simply adores horses, everything else is a bonus.
What Sets Us Apart
We are tired of seeing the same old methods being used on horses and riders without success, we don't enjoy seeing riders losing their love of the sport or horses becoming unwilling, either shutting down or becoming unmanageable in their anxiety. So we set out to be different in a way that, so far, has only achieved success. From starting horses to saddle ("breaking in"), to problem solving with competition horses, we put the horse's welfare first, and this results in improved performance.
We have a proven track record of transforming nervous riders into confident self reliant riders who have a toolbox at the ready to independently problem solve- which gives them ongoing confidence in themselves. As well as transforming nervous "difficult" horses into confident curious horses, so you can both enjoy riding.

Photographer/Videographer/Show groom Kamea, is our fantastic long term client turned team member, who passionately supports both Harmony Downs' clients and team members alike!
Having spent years receiving coaching from Steph, and other coaches, Kamea is a proficient horsewoman who takes great pride in turning out horses to a high standard, and handling them with fairness & joy. She is a fantastic photographer- expertly able to capture the "WOW" factor. Horses receiving a photography package will be photographed/prepared by Kamea, so you can trust the results to speak for themselves.
