Neurodivergent specialisation

Over the past 3 years coach Steph has taught more than 100 clients, the majority of those clients being Neurodiverse children and adults. 

Though accidental, coach Steph found a true passion for coaching Neurodivergent clients- especially those that struggled to progress with other coaches.  

We create a foundation of correct biomechanics and timing from our riders, that also in turn helps teach self regulation

Rather than fostering a teaching method based on reliance, Steph supports independence from the beginning of each client's learning journey, giving them the tools, resources, and thought processes, that they will need to problem solve in future.

We offer coaching for a wide array of riders, of different levels & disciplines, but we have our own strengths & weaknesses too! 

If we believe we are not the best fit for you, or that you would be better supported elsewhere, then we will happily refer you onwards. 

We put horse welfare first, by teaching a compassionate riding style, combined with ongoing analysis of horse performance to identify issues early-on, we can help you succeed in the competition ring. 

When it comes to horse training we combine positive reinforcement with carefully timed pressure/release, allowing the horse to communicate throughout each session.

We offer flexible booking availability, to best support our clients all year round. From early morning starts, to late evening finishes, we are here for our clients 7 days a week.

In the case of clients further afield- we offer virtual riding lessons & video assessments, so we can support you even if you aren't local or don't have the time to float to Canberra.

Please note: Our current pricing is consciously being kept as low as possible in order to remain accessible during this cost of living crisis (which is also deeply effecting us).

Having learnt from numerous of Australia's top riders, through lessons, clinics, masterclasses, and experience working alongside them, we have created a horse training philosophy that fosters curiosity and confidence. 

We believe in teaching each horse to be a willing partner to us, allowing their personality to shine. Each training plan is catered to the individual's strengths and weaknesses, both physical and mental, as well as taking into account the horse's future plans. 

"Problem horses" will be assessed fully before beginning behaviour remodelling, as pain is oftentimes the cause of misbehaviour.

We aim to have non-dramatic training sessions, that result in a finished graduate who will;  calmly present to be mounted, 

steadily walk/trot/canter on both a loose rein & with a steady contact, 

willingly accept leg & weight aids, '

respond to voice cues, 

accept new environments, 

and demonstrate an overall positive, willing attitude to being ridden & handled. 

With no use of harsh methods or overfacing. Training timelines will depend on each individual and their past experiences.

We welcome expressions of interest for working pupil positions, where we can support you to learn the ins & outs of the horse industry, whilst receiving coaching and training so you can learn new methods of horse training both on the ground and riding.
